Alaskan schools maintain school records and transcripts. Those seeking access to school records or transcripts should contact the appropriate school. You can search the most current Alaska District contact information by district on the Department of Education & Early Development's Alaska Districts page.

The Alaska State Archives contains a small holding of school records and transcripts for select closed schools. Additional guidance is provided below about special schools.

The State Archives holds a small amount of student transcripts, correspondence course grades, and student files from a few defunct schools listed directly below.

  • Covenant High School transcripts 1954-1985. Please refer to Covenant Youth of Alaska for transcripts 1986-to present, 907-222-1432;
  • Alyeska Central School transcripts 1960-2007;
  • Adak Region School District Student records, 1970-1996;
  • Alaska International Academy student files 1973-1974;
  • Correspondence courses taken from the University of Nebraska 1939-1954;
  • Lighthouse Community Christian School K-12 records, circa 1980-2009.

Records collected about schools by the Alaska Department of Education:

  • School district annual reports. Part B reports, 1918-1971
  • 7th and 8th grade reports 1918-1951

Access to personal information in these files is restricted under state and federal law (see FERPA). The Alaska State Archives is only able to provide copies of transcripts it has received to the student or eligible guardian as outlined by the Family Educational Rights & Privacy Act (FERPA).
